The Blotter Magazine, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit North Carolina corporation. We publish a free monthly literary magazine in Durham, NC, distributed in select cities throughout the Southeast, and in other places, too. We celebrated our tenth year in print in May, 2013, and are funded with donations and some advertising revenues. If you are interested in being involved in any way, shape or form, please contact us at chief@blotterrag.com. Donations are always welcome.
In 2011, we proudly published our first book “Tree: a Community of Artists Explores the Meaning of Nature” an all-ages picture book illustrated by 30 artists from the central North Carolina area. With generous donations, we were able to give copies of “Tree…” to regional public libraries throughout North Carolina. In the fall of 2013, we published a companion volume “River: a Community of Artists Explores the Meaning of Nature,” illustrated by 36 North Carolina artists.
Our business tenets are that there are writers, poets and artists creating work that doesn’t fit into the typical commercial mold, and a success model marketing high-quality, low-cost periodicals and books. The first tenet we follow diligently, and the second is something we are stringently searching for.
